PIAM3D offer specialized training programs designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry in advanced manufacturing and digital design. Our core training modules include:
3D Scanning & Reverse Engineering
This training focuses on capturing the geometry of physical objects using advanced 3D scanning technologies and converting them into accurate digital models. Participants learn how to process scan data, clean meshes, and reconstruct CAD-ready models. It is widely used for part reproduction, legacy component redesign, quality inspection, and restoring worn or unavailable components in industries like aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing.
3D CAD Modelling
This module covers the creation of precise 3D digital models using professional CAD software. Trainees develop skills in part design, assembly modeling, and technical drafting with engineering standards. The focus is on building manufacturable designs that meet functional, structural, and dimensional requirements, serving as the foundation for prototyping and production in modern engineering workflows.
Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)
This training teaches how to design components specifically optimized for additive manufacturing processes. It includes principles such as topology optimization, lightweight structures, support minimization, lattice design, and material efficiency. Participants learn how to redesign conventional parts to fully exploit the freedom of 3D printing while reducing cost, weight, and production time.
Additive Manufacturing (AM) Workflow
This module provides a complete overview of the end-to-end 3D printing pipeline, from concept to final part production. It includes file preparation, slicing, material selection, machine setup, printing parameters, post-processing, and quality inspection. The goal is to equip learners with practical knowledge of industrial AM systems and ensure reliable, high-quality printed outputs.
Beyond technical training, we actively organize conferences, seminars, expos, and competitions to promote innovation and knowledge sharing in emerging engineering fields.
We also provide internship opportunities, final year project supervision for undergraduate students, and advanced MS/PhD research collaborations, supporting students and researchers in developing practical solutions and contributing to cutting-edge scientific and industrial research.
