National Centre for Physics has been established in 2004 on the pattern of The Abdul Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics. The National Centre for Physics is a unique research centre on advanced and fundamental physics. The Centre aims to place Pakistan on global scientific map. Special emphasis is given to establish collaboration of Pakistani researchers with the renowned scientists of the developed countries to promote research and scientific culture in the country.

NCP likes to expose young scientists from Pakistan to cutting edge technologies and to provide them a platform for scientific research. NCP is and institution that is run by the scientists for the scientists. From this year a new scientific activity is launched by NCP to disseminate the knowledge and work at National level and to unveil the facilities present at NCP. The topics to be covered this year are:

  • Accelerator Technology
  • Astrophysics/ Cosmology
  • Condensed Matter Physics
  • High Energy Physics
  • Nanoscience
  • Plasma Physics

This Activity will also serve as a window to the upcoming event of 34th International Nathiagali Summer College June 22nd to July 4th, 2009 in which the topics of Nanomaterials for Energy & Environment and Laser Plasma, Photodynamics and Biophotonics & Microscopy will be discussed by the International Faculty.
