Symposium on Theoretical High Energy Physics and Cosmology

National Centre for Physics (NCP), Quaid-i-Azam University Campus is organizing a two day symposium on Theoretical High Energy Physics and Cosmology from 19 – 20 December, 2014. The NCP is relatively a young research Centre established in 2004 and has been successful in establishing a few active research departments in the areas of applied and basic sciences. Among these, the Department of Theoretical Physics is facilitating opportunities of viable research in the domains of theoretical particle physics, condensed matter physics, plasma physics, high energy physics and mathematical physics. The idea of holding the symposium on Theoretical High Energy Physics and Cosmology (THEPC) at NCP is to provide a platform for the local participants to meet and exchange/share scientific knowledge about recent developments in the field of THEP&C. The event consists of Oral talks by local researchers and Video lectures by experts in the field abroad. As such, the activity will serve as a forum where the participants in the field will have a chance to present their research work to the fellow researchers with the possibility of initiating mutual collaborations at national and international level. Participation of junior students has been thought to be useful to introduce them to the exciting field of particle physics and cosmology.
