A three-day "International Workshop on Ion Beam Applications (IBA)" is scheduled to take place at the National Centre for Physics (NCP) in Islamabad from 11-13 September, 2023. The workshop is being organized with the support of (AS-ICTP), Trieste, Italy and has been successfully conducted in previous years. This upcoming event marks the continuation of this series. Ion beams of various energies are widely used as a standard research tool in numerous scientific fields, ranging from basic physics to space science and technology, device fabrication, materials science, environmental science, medicine and medical sciences, cultural heritage, industrial applications to probing the Big Bang. They are advanced and versatile tools that consistently uncover new applications across a wide range of disciplines. In order to keep national and international users updated, the NCP regularly organizes IBA workshops. These workshops aim to provide a platform for international and national experts in Ion Beam Applications to deliver a series of lectures, hands-on training and offer a comprehensive view of the latest developments in this field. The objective is to raise awareness among young scientists, researchers, and engineers.

The workshop will primarily focus on the applications of accelerators science and technology, which is a multidisciplinary area encompassing various branches. The scope of this workshop includes following areas:

• Ion beam techniques for material analysis
• Ion beam modification of bulk materials/nanomaterials
• Irradiation related to biology, and
• Industrial applications
• Applications of the radioactive ion beams
• Ion Implantation
• Focused ion beam applications
• X-rays and Gamma ray’s production cross section study using heavy ions
