The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world largest particle accelerator ever built at CERN, Switzerland. The Run-I phase of the LHC machine has already achieved the exciting discovery of Higgs boson in July, 2012 using 8 TeV centre of mass energy of proton-proton collisions. In the last year of 2015, the machine has successfully operated even at the higher centre of mass energy of 13 TeV with increased luminosities during Run-II phase. The enhanced centre of mass energy and luminosities are expected to play a crucial role in investigating standard model physics and beyond.
Purpose
The main purpose of this school is to train graduate and undergraduate students and strengthen the knowledge of young researchers in the field of experimental and theoretical high energy physics. The school will be covering physics-oriented lectures, data analysis tutorials and hands-on exercises designed by various local and foreign experts in the field.
