20 June - 12 July, 2019

Introduction

The National Centre for Physics has been conducting since 2016 an annual program to improve the knowledge base and teaching skills of educators at the Masters/BS level. The focus of the program is to address the issues being faced by teachers in concept development and in problem solving as a basic part of physics education. Currently the Second Course is in progress. The First Module of the current Course was conducted in June - July 2018. In continuation, the NCP will organize the 2nd module of this Refresher Course at its premises from 20th June to 12th July, 2019. The course will consist of lectures, problem solving sessions and experimental demonstrations, conducted by experienced faculty members from NCP, QAU, COMSATS and NUST.

  1. The current Module will cover 3 major disciplines at the M.Sc. level, namely
    • Mathematical Methods
    • Quantum Mechanics
    • Thermal Physics
  2. Selected lectures and demonstrations of homemade physics teaching experiments.
  3. The course will be intensive with 6 interaction hours per day and selected participants would be expected to attend with full seriousness. Performance and participation will be assessed and Certificates of participation and achievement will be awarded.
  4. Due to a limited number of seats selection will be based on academic and teaching record.
