May 30 – June 03, 2022
Introduction
More than 99% of visible universe is in plasma state, the fourth state of matter. Plasmas have wide range of applications from astrophysical environments to terrestrial and laboratory scales. Plasmas also provide many exciting industrial applications and future energy solutions. Due to tremendous variations of temperatures and densities, the study of plasma dynamics and wave propagation at different time and length scales has got a great deal of interest globally.
The Department of Theoretical Physics (TPD) at NCP, Islamabad is organizing a three-day Workshop on Plasma Physics from May 2 - 4, 2017. The 2nd Workshop of this series was held last year which covered the topics, such as, Basics of Plasma Physics, MHD Theory, Fundamentals of Kinetic Theory, Space and Astrophysical Plasmas, Laser Induced Plasmas, etc. The 3rd Workshop is more specific and devoted to pedagogy of the rudimentary principles of Plasma Physics, Aspects of Electromagnetism, Fluid Theory and Simulation. The idea of holding this Workshop at NCP is to inspire the young researchers and students by providing them a platform to meet and exchange their scientific knowledge about recent developments in the field of Plasma Physics. The event consists of invited talks and group discussion by the experts.
- Multi Fluid Theory
- MHD Theory
- Drift Waves
- Plasma Simulation
