Plasma exists in many forms in nature and has a widespread use in science and technology ranging from gigantic astrophysical scales to terrestrial laboratory scales. Plasmas provide exciting industrial applications and future energy solutions. Understanding the behavior of plasmas has motivated researchers to formulate the fundamental models of plasma physics. This foundational work on plasmas has led to important advances in other fields like space physics, computational physics, mathematical modeling and numerical analysis, laser physics, etc.
The Department of Theoretical Physics (TPD) at NCP, Islamabad is regularly organizing workshop on Plasma Physics since 2015. This is the fourth workshop of the series. The workshop covers basic aspects of plasma physics with gradual concept building in mathematical modeling, computational plasma physics, simulation, and experimental techniques in fusion plasma physics. The idea of holding this workshop at NCP is to train and inspire the young students and researchers by providing them a platform to exchange their scientific knowledge on recent developments in the field of Plasma Physics. The event consists of invited talks, group discussion and lab sessions by the experts.

Active BS students and graduate students enrolled in a physics program at an HEC recognized university/Institute are encouraged to apply for participation. Participation of junior students has been thought to be useful to introduce them to the exciting field of Plasma Physics. As a rule, travel expenses of the participants should be borne by their home institutes. However, partial travel assistance may be provided to a few selected participants residing outside Islamabad.
