Introduction

Following the Workshop on Physics and Technology of Synchrotron held at National Centre for Physics (NCP), from 20-21 April 2015, the NCP is announcing a one day workshop on “Physics and Technology of Accelerators” on 23 November, 2015. The workshop aims at providing a platform to researchers and scientists engaged in R&D work related to accelerator technology research and applications in Pakistan and to foster collaborations among the stakeholders.

Format

The workshop will include keynote lectures, contributed talks, posters and interactive discussions. The duration of the contributory talks will be 20-30 minutes. A lively discussion among the panel of experts will be carried out with a futuristic objective to develop an autonomous accelerator technology and related collaboration for research and application in Pakistan. The platform is ideal for young scientists and researchers motivated to push the limits of their investigations a step further.

Participation

Active research students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty members, scientists and engineers are encouraged to apply for participation. There is no registration fee for participation. The travel expenses of the participants are to be borne by the parent institutes. However, partial travel assistance may be provided to a few selected outstation participants on merit basis.

Registration Form can be accessed here. Please submit duly completed / signed registration form along with title & abstract of oral/poster presentation (if applicable) by postal mail or scanned copy of the same by email (caad@ncp.edu.pk) on or before 15 November, 2015 to the Activity Secretariat at NCP. All applicants are required to provide information about their CNIC in the Application Form. List of accepted participants will be posted on the NCP website accordingly on November 18, 2015.
