Introduction

National Centre for Physics (NCP) is delighted to announce and host a two day workshop on “Physics and Technology of Synchrotron” from 20-21 April, 2015. The activity is being organized under the auspices of the MoU signed between NCP and the SESAME, Jordan on Nov. 19, 2007. The MoU is aimed to foster collaboration and to provide a platform to our national researchers and scientists to learn the technology associated with synchrotron accelerators.

Format

The workshop will include keynote lectures, contributed talks, posters along with possibility of an interactive session among participants and faculty. A lively discussion among panel of experts will be carried out with a futuristic objective to develop an autonomous accelerators technology in the country. The platform is ideal for scientists and researchers motivated to push the limits of their investigations a step further by employing synchrotron light of high brilliance and intensity with a desire to retrieve results within a shorter time of data collection.

Participation

Active research students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty members, scientists and engineers are encouraged to apply for participation. Accepted participants will be required to deposit registration fee upon arrival at registration desk as per following details:

• Students: Rs. 1000/-
• Employees: Rs. 2000/-

Invited Speakers are exempted from registration fee. The travel expenses of the participants shall be borne by the parent institutes. Partial travel assistance may be provided to selected outstation student participants on merit basis.

How to Apply

Registration Form can be accessed here. Please submit duly completed/signed registration form along with title & abstract of oral/poster presentation (if applicable) to the Activity Secretariat by email (caad@ncp.edu.pk) on or before the deadline (April 10, 2015). Registration forms without CNIC No. will not be accepted. Selection will be made by the technical committee and the list of accepted participants will be posted on NCP website on April 13, 2015.
